Idomeni Petition: Stop killing us slowly with Skype asylum applications

By admin

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION

This is a petition made by the people in Idomeni camp. They are forced by Greece government to apply for asylum through a skype call. They have to call a skype number, which is never available. they write:

n Idomeni camp, living in tents in the mud, rain and sun for over forty days, life is becoming a normal hell, frustrations are rising as we lose hope.

Our emotions cycle between apathy, frustration and decreasing hope as our lives are reduced to a routine of sleeping and waiting. Waiting in line for food, for tea, and to charge our phones, and waiting on hold for a Skype call that is never picked up.

Our lives are stuck in limbo.

And even though you know we are here, you force your eyes to look away.

The current system for us to apply for asylum or relocation – to continue our lives beyond camps in Greece – can only begin with an appointment made by a Skype call with very limited capacity.

See the following link for more info
https://newsthatmoves.org/en/?p=2216

Skype is frustrating at the best of times, but when your future depends on the call?

For people living in camps with limited access to …read more

Alliance social Berlin against Racism: Call for a demonstration on 16 April, 1pm, starts from Oranienplatz

Social Berlin for all, stop racists! We won’t be divided!

According to the UN, 60 million people worldwide are fleeing from war, oppression and exploitation – more than at any time since the Second World War. Some of them find their way to Berlin. The conditions for refugees are, as ever, inacceptable. Many must still wait for days in the cold just to be registered, or sleep in gyms or makeshift shelters. At the same time, there are empty houses and unused property which is kept empty by speculators. For example, the former Federal Ministry of the Interior, with its 850 empty heated rooms, which is directly next to LaGeSo, costs the state over half a million Euros each month.

Right to stay, good housing, jobs and education for all

Even those who have lived here longer are finding it increasingly difficult to find affordable housing. Berlin needs tens of thousands more homes, and only about half as many are built each year as are needed. The public sector is under-financed and our colleagues in the civil service …read more

War against refugees in idomeni — photos by a syrian photographer

By admin

IMG_1490

In the last days, the european army stated a clear war against -so called- refugees who wanted to cross the border at Idomeni. This is starting a new era of violance against people who are seeking a safe place to leave and does not even have a chance to apply for asylum.

In a lot of propaganda media it was claimed that the protest of -so called- refugees was organized by european activists. This is another clear Racist statement, as the journalists can not even beleive that these people are able to organize themselves for a protest. The photos below show also how is in reality the great protest and resistance is organized.

Today it is a war against refugees. Tomorrow it will be a war against other minorities. And that’s how history repeats itself.

What about the “Welcome Culture”? It is hard to see it beyond the smoke and tear gas. it just fade away, as we didn’t realize people doesn’t need clothes and cookies. They need right to stay and right to work…

Without more words, we share with you the photos, taken by A., a photographer and syrian refugee in Idomeni camp who is among the people to get mass-deported to …read more

+++ deutsch unten +++

Living conditions in the emergency shelter of Osloer Straße 23-26, in Berlin, range from bad to worse. Those who live there in “transitory” manner denounce the sanitary situation and the permanent mistreatment of the employees working for the security company WISAG and BTB Bildungszentrum. These companies receive thousands of Euros per month from the German State to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, food provisions for people who arrive in Berlin, seeking asylum from war and economic and political conflicts in their countries of origin.

One day in the emergency shelter of Osloerstraße is enough to raise concern about the extreme vulnerability of the residents. Here follow some details of the current situation, for which there doesn’t seem to be signs of improvement.

For those unfamiliar with this emergency shelter, it’s built inside the regular school gym. In that space, beds for about 100-250 people are located. Women, men, children sleep all in the same space, which has no ventilation or natural light and is clearly overcrowded. Besides, the sanitations are badly maintained and usually have no doors. …read more

War, Occupation, Refugees — Malalai Joya on war, occupation, refugees and the problematic of deportation of Afghan refugees

Malalai Joya

On the 16.4 for Dari/Farsi speakers

and on the 17.4. in English.

Both events will take place in K9. See flyer.

Malalai Joya is one the first Afghan women who was elected as the member of the Afghan assembly for new constitution (Loya jirga) at the age of 25 and then as the representative in Afghan House of People (Wolesi jirga) after the occupation.
Her radical speeches, denouncing Mujahedin in both assemblies and demanding national trials for these fighters, whom she called warlords and war criminals, resulted in threatening her to death several times, many speeches against her in the parliament and finally dismissing her from House of People. But this dismissal was not the end for Malalai. Since then she is trying to make Afghan women’s voice to be globally heard, women who under the condition of occupation and the power of Jihadist forces -who still have influence on both the government and the parliament- are fighting for better life and equal rights and facing different risks and threats

120 refugees pushed back at the Greek-Turkish land-border in the night from 12th to 13th of February 2016

By riva

The way they had already walked by foot.

On 4th of April 2016 refugees in Idomeni reported to us a push-back operation they experienced at the Greek-Turkish land-border in February. Among the witnesses are a 63-year-old woman and several families with small children.

In the night from 12th to 13th of February they crossed the land-border coming from Edirne/Turkey, fleeing to Greece. They arrived in Greece around 6am. It was a big group of about 120 refugees, among them many children and also several elderly. After the border-crossing they divided into three groups, each group about 40 persons, because it seemed too difficult to walk with the big group. They hide in a forest until it was dark again. At 8pm they started to walk and they walked until 6am.

The way they had already walked by foot.

After the whole night walking the smaller children were unable to continue. In their group of 40 there were 13 children and also 3 elderly, one of the woman sitting with us is about 63 years old, another couple was much older then her, in their 80ies. In this group all people were refugees from Syria, all Kurds from the region of Qamishli.

At about 6am they found a kind of closed …read more

Stop deportations – There is enough space for everyone!

Wir möchten …read more

Festung Europa einreißen

Dienstag | 19.

no stress tour 2016

As the „No Stress Tour“ is primarily organized and planned by persons which are themselves refugees and European citizens, they will also directly or indirectly profit from the benefits the project offers. Because of its flexibility, the „No Stress Tour“ facilitates the exchange between refugees and other inhabitants of the districts and sensitizes people on issues such as the controversial asylum policy, with special focus on the emancipation of women and children. To achieve our goal, we will organise weekends full of activities in various refugee camps from June to October, which will be carried out in two camps each month in or around Berlin and Bielefeld. Invited are in particular refugees, citizens of the concerning districts, doctors and lawyers for refugees, mayors, socially active groups and people with migration background. The various activities are adressed to all the persons directly concerned. To the citizens of the districts, to all refugees and particular to all woman and children.

Planned weekend schedule for the „No Stress Tour“:

Friday:
· soccer: mixed: Germans/ Refugees
· Meeting and discussion with woman and children
Saturday:

Moderation: Klaus Linder / inkw

On April 14, 2006, Dominique Kouamadio, a 23 year-old Congolese, was shot dead by a policeman in Dortmund. One shot hit Dominique’s heart. The state persecutor judges the act of the police as self-defence and has closed the files. The sister of Dominique, her family and many others believe, that Dominique’s did not need to die.

WIJ ZIJN HIER IN HET NELSON MANDELAPARK

By roeben

.

leven over waar zij moeten slapen.

By refugee movement journey to greece

I am here since two weeks and two days. We were the first people that came here. We came here on the 19th, before the deal with Turkey. But we were 46 people who came here and to 42 they gave the registration paper to go to the city. But us four people, they left us out here and we were asking them why did they left us here and all of them don’t talked to us. Because we are black, that’s why. If we call them to talk to them, they don’t talk to us, they keep on doing that, for three days or four days. I saw a lady, she was asking questions to them about our story, then she was trying to help us. I don’t know if the police later caught her. Since that day we have never seen her no more. If we try to talk to the police, nobody wants to talk to us, we don’t know if it is because of our colour or something like that.
And since yesterday, they closed here and we can’t go out and they are treating us like we are not human beings. Even today they wanted to …read more

Update at the borders 5.4.2016

By zigacina

By Are You Syrious?

#‎GENERAL‬: On Wednesday interior ministers of Germany, Austria and Switzerland met in Vienna to talk about refugees and terrorism. German interior minister Thomas de Maizière suggested to make a deal with North African countries as EU did with Turkey. “The method is right”, he said, meaning deporting illegal migrants and for that taking equal amount of ‘legal’. He didn’t mention countries to collaborate with, but said a deal with them would be “unequally difficult”. The ministers are now focused on two alternative routes: Austrian interior minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner explained the East Balkan Route (Turkey-Bulgaria) has a potential of 1.1 million migrants, the Mediterranean Route 300.000. She also underlined to support Greece and possible in future affected country, obviously referring to Bulgaria and Romania. To the closing of the Balkan-Route de Maizière said it’s done. “And we are in complete agreement that it needs to remain done.”

#‎LIBYA‬: At least five African migrants are dead and 15 injured, some of them seriously after guards at a detention in the coastal town of ‪#‎Zawiya‬ (who form part of the Al Nasser Militia) opened fire during a mass escape early on Saturday morning.

We are a group of 13 people from different countries, almost all living in Germany. We speak a lot of different languages, e.g. Arabic, English, Farsi, Dari, French, German, Kurdish, Pashto, Urdu, and Turkish. Most of us met during the self-organized refugee struggles in Bavaria, or in other anti-racist contexts. Most members of our collective came to Germany as migrants from Non-Western countries.

All members of our collective believe in freedom of movement for everybody and the right to choose to go where people want, whenever they want. We believe that for this to become true, it is necessary to provide reliable and trustworthy information for migrants: About their journey to and through Europe, and on the asylum system in EU member states.

That’s why we are planning to travel through Greece for two weeks, from the 24th of March to the 8th of April. We aim at meeting people on the ground, in order to provide them with information through leaflets in different languages. We will also have info panels on the bus, displaying maps and legal advices about Greece, the destination and transit countries.
