Refugees from Schwäbisch Gmünd control the police in Jena!

By kandolo

Jena, April 20, 2014

We are a group of refugee activists from Schwäbisch Gmünd and we make sure no border can stop our activism.

On Thursday, 17 April 2014 about 17.00 hrs., while we were in the train in our way from Schwäbisch Gmünd to Jena to participate in a workshop and conference organized by Voice Refugee Forum in Thüringen, we were surprised and terrorized by two policemen as they came toward us and asked: where we were going? One of us answered: “We are going to Jena”. After they asked him for passport he asked them back: “Why?” They said: “We are Policemen and we are doing our duty to make control.” So he gave them his papers and after they saw it they said: “You are from Schwäbisch Gmünd in Baden Württemberg and you are not supposed to be here.” He replied: “Is here not a part of Germany?” They told him: “Yes, but with this ‘Duldung’, you are not supposed to be here.” He said: “I do not know, but I think this is Germany and I believe that I have freedom to move.” Then they left him and start to talk to the whole group and asking: “Are …read more

Process statement before the Hamburg District Court
charge: domestic disturbance in City Hall

To the specific allegation that was made against me and three other people, one can only say that it is a false accusation. There was a discussion and an agreement, afterwards nevertheless the other side was pressing a charge.
But this is beside the point. The charge and the condemnation serve to intimidate and to warn that the status …read more

“Lampedusa in Hamburg” racial profiling in St.Pauli and upcoming protest on wednesday at the town hall

By kandolo

Attention! Racist police checks in St. Pauli yesterday evening, Thursday, April the 3rd, three different checks by uniformed and civilian police officers were reported to us. The people were arrested. So far we have no news about the fact that they were released yet. Already on Wednesday, two members of the group “Lampedusa in Hamburg” had been checked and arrested. A registration requirement was made with the immigration authorities. After a few hours they were released.

The selforganized joint winter emergency program “Winternotprogramm” of Hamburg residential projects, residential and housing communities for “Lampedusa in Hamburg” runs until the end of April, then everyone is back on the streets. This increases the pressure on individual members of the group. Three years after the NATO war HYPERLINK “https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lchbsDiDgEw” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lchbsDiDgEw – the second year on after living on the streets, leaving families continuously without support. The Senate for the interior is aware of this and chooses this very moment to start again with the racist control of persons and to hunt members of “Lampedusa in Hamburg” and others by the Dublin system criminalizing them. The slogan “refugees welcome” is mocked by the Hamburg Senate.

I am a Refugee. I spent two and a half months in the open Lager of Eisenhüttenstadt. Now I am part of a solidarity group against this Lager.

I want to share with you my point of view on and experience of Refugees’ situation in Berlin and Brandenburg. How one day I felt that my freedom was over: I was in the German asylum system. End of freedom means that you can’t choose the city where you want to live. The first step in the asylum system is to apply for asylum in the city where your friends live, but they separate you from them and put you wherever they want.
It was the same with me. I was in Eisenhüttenstadt. First I wanted to make clear that this is one of the worst Lager in the world. Inside the Lager there is the Bundesamt, a police station, the Ausländerbehörde, a …read more
